About our Blog
We are an active outgoing couple with grown children who are embarking on the next phase of our lives, retirement, in which we intend to see the world incrementally and on foot where possible.
We began our adventure with a 4 month motorcycle trip of western and northern Europe and then we navigated the Wainwright Coast to Coast walk across England. To complete our initial journey we headed to Southeast Asia for two months to discover Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. This will mean we will have circumnavigated the globe during our six month trip. We thank our lucky stars we embarked on this journey before the Covid-19 pandemic changed our world.
Now that the pandemic and travel are behind us, we set off to discover as much of North America as we can in our little home on wheels, Klara. Little did we know the adventure would end up spanning two years instead of one.
Having returned to Vancouver in June 2023 we enjoyed a fantastic summer in Vancouver before making our way over to Spain to undertake our long-awaited Camino de Santiago pilgrimage across northern Spain. This adventure would span forty walking days and cover eight hundred km from St Jean Pied de Port in southern France to Santiago de Compostela in northeast Spain. We had intended to walk the Camino during our Europe trip in 2019 but visa boondoggles conspired against us.
